This fantastic event has been growing in popularity, year on year and deserved an official identity. This is what we set out to achieve. The Ridgeway Challenge is an 86 mile endurance race, which is renowned for it’s beautiful setting along the Ridgeway national trail and it’s gruelling challenge of running night and day.
The logo design uses a combination of bold typography and colours, with simple iconic illustration to tell the tale of the Ridgeway Challenge. The route is signified within the logo by showing the course profile set between the famous landmarks at the start and finish of the run. The simple and bold typography clearly and cleanly strengthens the name of the event and it’s niche of running by night, combined with a simplified typographically branded abbreviation of the ‘R86’. This helps develop the identity for ease of brand recognition and creates alternative readable options for the logo across social media avatars.
